Fall Tour Part II

I wanted to post the second part to my fall home tour last weekend but a little (actually rather large) project I started became the priority. More on that another time. I am doing a little travel for work and decided to bring my lap top which I rarely do. But I knew I would have some down time so best to take advantage of this opportunity. We have been experiencing some beautiful fall weather recently. I’m not exactly sure why but when the temperatures drop and the trees start shedding their leaves the skies somehow just seem more vividly blue. Don’t you think so? Well at least when it isn’t raining, which it sometimes does here a lot.

So as you may know I recently purchased a Canon T5 camera to start taking pictures with something other than my cell phone!! It is just not as easy to pick up as I thought it would be so as I was traveling to the airport this morning I thought “ya know Chris, you could always take a class.” So add that to my list of to-dos, along with the aforementioned project and a handful of others……..

So here we go with Fall Home Tour Part II

Starting with the kitchen!

We recently added these open shelve to a little corner in our kitchen. It was a quick DIY and I just love the way they turned out. I am constantly restyling and finding new things to display. I love white pitchers. They are so versatile. The look really sweet displayed with nothing or with flowers, twigs, whatever!

They are never without some of my white pitchers. I might have a bit of an obsession with them. They are so versatile and look really sweet displayed with nothing or with flowers, twigs, whatever!
I just love these little spools I found at the target one spot!! Placed them in a Ball canning jar for a simple shelf addition!

I found this on one of my far too many stops at Homegoods. I just knew it would be another item I could change with the seasons or when the mood strikes me. I have it dressed for fall with some fresh picked apples, pumpkins and fall kitched towels.

Similar to my dining room table, I opted for a neutral tablescape. White pumpkins-real mixed with not so real, birchbark logs and clippings from my boxwood bushes. Believe it or not the clippings last a good long time. I think for this photo they have been on my table for nearly a week. This is a very inexpensive way to dress up your table!

Sticking with the nature and neutral theme I made "napkin rings" from lavender clippings and secured them to the napkin with twine. Economical!

We found these super slim shutters at an architectural salvage store and I knew immediately where I wanted to put them. Again with the neutrals. I may add some Halloween touches soon....

I made the wreath from pages from an old book and twine. I'll share a quick tutorial soon! By adding some spiders and bats, I could change this quickly for my Halloween mantle.

Plaids are scattered around my house . This runner is actually a scarf I'm sure I'll pull off my coffee table and put to good use for winter.

I've started changing out pillow covers to go with the season. Another simple project that packs a punch.

More throws-they're kind of everywhere in my house. They not only keep you warm but they look pretty!
